The term Chamber of Commerce is one of the most recognized brand names in the world, and the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce receives hundreds of calls and visits throughout the year from visitors, potential and new residents, other chamber members, businesses, and current residents.  Our policy is to recommend our chamber members first and foremost.  With a high student and retired population, we receive more inquiries than you would expect.  We are proud to recommend our chamber members.

We recognize that today’s consumer will see seek information from the internet first.  That is why we will update our website on a daily basis if needed.  Our mission is to provide accurate and updated information.  Our website is targeted to potential visitors, potential new residents, current residents, and to business.  Your member investment not only lists your business on our website, but we also provide a direct link to your website and a link to your business e-mail.  The membership directory can be searched by category, company name, contact name, or telephone number.  Our website also has a calendar of events that keep our local residents coming back for local activities.  If you or your business would like to advertise on this website, contact the chamber for more information.

Chamber Voice Newsletter 
Each month, we design and mail 530 newsletters to our members.  The newsletter contains membership investment information, community information, and chamber information.  Chamber Voice is a great tool to stay plugged into your community and stay abreast of what’s happening in the Tahlequah Area. 

The Chamber Voice is also sent out in electronic format via e-mail.  Chamber members can have an unlimited number of people receive this important information.  Just notify us of the e-mail addresses that you would like them sent to and we will ensure that they get the newsletter.

Chamber members businesses and non-profits can utilize the newsletter to promote their business or event.  You provide the flyers and we’ll insert them in the newsletter for a nominal fee.  Chamber members joining for the first time are allowed to insert one flyer for free during the first 6 months of their membership!

New Business Contacts 
Visibility and exposure are essential to effective marketing.  We, like you, value business relationships and the chamber is a catalyst for developing those important relationships.  Our Business After Hours is held on a regular basis at various chamber member businesses.  It is a free, informal, come and go event held after normal business hours.  It’s a great opportunity to meet other business people like yourself, and promote your business.  If you would like to showcase your business by hosting Business After Hours, call the chamber to find out the details.

We also celebrate Tahlequah, local citizens, and chamber members each year at the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet.  This exciting event is a great opportunity to meet other chamber members.

Business Services 
As a member you get our complete membership roster, including names, addresses and phone numbers to use as contacts for your business or organization. 

In addition, we allow chamber members to use our bulk mail permit number.  Bulk mailings are an inexpensive way to communicate with your current or potential customers.  Check with the chamber staff for complete details and applicable postal service rules.

Also, we offer notary public service free of charge to chamber members.

Membership Directory 
As a chamber member you will receive two FREE listings in our annual membership directory.  This directory is distributed to visitors, residents, and other businesses. 

Value Added Benefits 
Through a partnership with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Oklahoma, we offer Chamber Blue.  Chamber Blue is a competitive health insurance plan designed to make health coverage more affordable and accessible for Oklahoma small businesses.  No medical underwriting is required for Chamber Blue – coverage is guaranteed for eligible businesses. Chamber Blue offers choices of four separate health plan options to employers, including both PPO and HMO coverage.  Chamber Blue also features prescription drug benefits, nationwide coverage and optional dental coverage.  To be eligible for Chamber Blue, business must have fewer than 100 employees.  For more information, call the chamber office or Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Oklahoma at 1-888-250-9020.

New Resident Program 
As a Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce member, you can insert information regarding your business into our welcome packets FREE.  These packets are literally mailed coast to coast to people interested in moving to the Tahlequah Area.  Chamber members can capitalize by turning these new residents into new customers.

The chamber also allows members to display information about their business in our lobby.  This is a great marketing opportunity for members, as our lobby is open to the public.

The chamber also distributes maps of the city & county – free of charge.

Lobbying & Advocacy 
The Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce maintains close ties to our local, state and federal elected officials.  Representing more than 510 members, we work with these officials to promote and enhance Tahlequah and the surrounding area.

The Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce is also a member of the State Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma and the United States Chamber of Commerce. 

The chamber also offers our Legislative Focus Series, community sessions with local and state officials February through June.  The community is encouraged to attend these events to have their questions answered by our elected officials.  These events are held on the first Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m.  The host locations change monthly, so check our Calendar of Events for locations.

Events & Programs 
The Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce offers events and programs throughout the year – each with the goal of enhancing or promoting the Tahlequah Area.  Some of the events that we sponsor or organize are listed below:

Ribbon Cuttings 
The Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates the opening of a new business in the Tahlequah Area by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony.  Our Ambassadors will arrive at any Grand Opening, Grand Re-Opening, or recently re-modeled opening with big scissors, red ribbon, and a camera – all at no charge to you!  Call the chamber for more details. 

Community Involvement 
We know you are busy with your business, but if you would like to volunteer to help with making Tahlequah a great place to live, work and play – your chamber is the place to get involved.  You can get involved as much or as little as you would like.  We certainly welcome your involvement.
